Building a Legacy: Embracing Change and Finding Purpose

In this post, I want to talk about embracing change, finding purpose, and the journey to building a legacy—in both life and business. Honestly, I’m just back from a whirlwind few days in Philly, driving home after an intense but incredible stretch of client shoots. I’ve got hours ahead of me, the perfect time for a heart-to-heart. So consider this less of a formal blog and more of a real conversation, like catching up with an old friend.

Getting Real: Embracing Vulnerability and Change

So, let’s start by getting real. This past year has been a wild ride, a constant mix of change, growth, and vulnerability. It’s not always easy to open up, especially in a public space like this. But I truly believe we all learn so much from each other’s experiences, and that’s why I’m here—to share my journey and hopefully make you feel seen and supported in yours. Sometimes, it feels like we’re all just trying to figure it out, one step at a time, right?

I’m sitting in my car at 4:30 p.m., that awkward time of day where everyone’s either busy or winding down, and no one’s really available to talk. So I thought, why not share all the things swirling in my mind with you instead? Let’s make this about how my journey connects with yours—because at the end of the day, that’s what this is really about. We’re in it together.

The Evolution of a Year

This past year has been full of changes—for me, for my businesses, and probably for many of you, too. I’ve been working to get really clear on how I want to serve, how I want to help you build your business, and what kind of legacy I want to leave behind. That’s why I’m starting this two-part series, to talk about the shift I’m making—a direction that’s new but also feels deeply familiar.

If you’ve been following me on Instagram (@sashafedunchak), you know I’ve got a lot going on—Daring Haus, Powerhaus Media, consulting, a podcast, and, of course, being a mom of two. It’s a lot, and I get it when people are like, “How do you do it all?” It’s been a journey of figuring that out myself. The truth? I don’t always do it all. But what I do is embrace each role with a clear vision of why I’m doing it. It’s taken a lot of reflection—especially during those life-changing moments, like preparing for my second daughter’s arrival—to understand what I’m building and why.

Challenging the Single-Venture Myth

I’m not the type to stick to just one thing. If you’re also in a season of transition—maybe questioning your direction, feeling the itch to branch out, or wondering if you can juggle multiple things—let me be the first to say, it’s okay. The idea that success requires a singular focus is limiting. Sure, juggling multiple ventures is challenging. But with a solid foundation and clear purpose, why not follow your diverse passions? Why not break the mold?

That’s exactly why I launched Daring Haus. It started as Daring Creative, but over time, I realized I wanted more depth and growth. So, I teamed up with my husband, and we redefined our purpose. Today, Daring Haus focuses on founders who want to scale, step back, or sell. It’s not about just making a business look good on the surface—it’s about building something that’s scalable, sustainable, and, most importantly, valuable. It took months of strategy, reflection, and letting go of my comfort zone to get to where we are now. And I’m so proud of the work we’re doing.

What Exactly Is Daring Haus?

We’re stepping in to help founders with fractional CFO and CMO services. That means we’re providing the kind of high-level financial and marketing support that’s often out of reach for smaller businesses. Our flagship program, Daring360, is all about that full-picture support—helping clients scale in a way that feels right for them. We’re not just about increasing profits; we’re about aligning growth with each entrepreneur’s unique life goals.

For me, this journey from Daring Creative to Daring Haus has been about more than business—it’s about building a legacy. One thing I’ve learned is that true growth takes time. The shift didn’t happen overnight, and that’s okay. If you’re out there building your dream, remember it’s supposed to take time. Legacy is not built in a day.

Enter Powerhaus Media

Then there’s Powerhaus Media. You know, I started this as a way to support clients who needed photography for their brands. But it’s grown into something way more meaningful—a space for women founders to tell their stories in a raw, authentic way. When I work with clients through Powerhaus, it’s not just about taking pretty pictures. It’s about creating visuals that truly reflect who they are and what they stand for. Because that’s what makes a brand magnetic—being unapologetically you.

Working with other creatives like Anna Laura has helped bring my vision for Powerhaus Media to life. We’re all about collaboration over competition. Women at the top are not each other’s rivals; we’re allies. And that’s what makes this journey so exciting. Seeing other women step into their power and watching their brands come to life is incredibly rewarding.

The Hard Truth: Success Isn’t Linear

Let me tell you—this year has been full of highs and lows. We’ve had wins that felt incredible, and we’ve faced challenges that tested everything I thought I knew. From balancing new business models to managing childcare, there have been days where I wanted to throw in the towel. But through it all, I’ve learned the importance of staying patient, of trusting the process, and of giving myself grace.

We live in a culture that glorifies the hustle, but success isn’t always about pushing harder. Sometimes, it’s about stepping back, reassessing, and making sure you’re still on the right path. If your business isn’t where you want it to be yet, know that it’s okay. Even the most iconic brands didn’t pop off overnight. They took time. They grew slowly, intentionally, and with purpose.

So, to those of you who are feeling stuck or overwhelmed: take a deep breath. You’re allowed to go at your own pace. You’re allowed to change your mind, to pivot, to grow slowly, and to take a different path than the one you originally planned. We’re all in this for the long game, for the legacy we want to leave. And that takes time, intention, and a whole lot of heart.

What’s Coming Next

I’m so grateful to have you on this journey with me, and I hope this has been helpful. I’ve got something really personal and exciting to share in part two of this series, so stay tuned for that. And as always, I’d love to hear from you—your stories, your wins, your challenges. Let’s keep this conversation going. Slide into my DMs on Instagram (@sashafedunchak) and let me know what’s resonating with you.

Thank you for riding along with me—literally, on this long drive home, and figuratively, on this journey through the ups and downs of entrepreneurship.

Remember, progress doesn’t always mean productivity. Sometimes, progress is just about keeping the faith and showing up, day after day. So here’s to building our legacies—one brave, messy, beautiful step at a time.

We’re in this together, and I’m so excited for what’s to come.
