“And so I created this little reel just to kind of make the point that sometimes our limiting beliefs are not really ours. There are things that other people have said to us, right? Like, I literally remember the exact moment when I was like 12 years old, and I was like in the living room. I was watching a movie or something like that or something on TV, and I said to my mom, I want to be a hairstylist. Like, I loved beauty. I loved hair. And she was like, that is so dumb. You'll never make any money. Only idiots are hairstylists. Like, all this terrible stuff. I was like, okay. Guess I'm not going down that path, right?”

“They’re just trying to protect us. They’re trying to help us. But it’s like the more that we take from others, even you listening to this podcast. It’s like the more advice we take, the more messages we take in sometimes. We stop listening to ourselves and our intuition.”

“But like at the end of the day, you know, we’re all human beings. We’re all running businesses. All businesses are run by humans. Even the AI ones, like some human thought it up, right? So I think the lesson here from a marketing perspective, no matter what your business is, is like, Don’t forget to occasionally show up as a human.”
No matter how much we automate or delegate, our businesses are ultimately a reflection of who we are. By embracing authenticity and allowing our true selves to shine through, we create a brand that is not only relatable but also deeply connected to our audience.

“So this is, I guess, my biggest lesson from 2023 is trust yourself. Just trust yourself. What’s the worst that can happen? If it all fails, at least you tried. If it all burns down, at least you’ll have the data and the information of, ‘This is what works, and this is what doesn’t.’ But if we’re just sitting in our heads, just percolating around these ideas or begging for other people’s opinions all day long, we’re never going to get the actual information we need from potential customers, from our target audience, from the market to say, ‘Is this business idea viable?’”
This insight is crucial for any entrepreneur. The fear of failure often paralyzes us into inaction, but the reality is that failure is not the end—it’s simply a step on the path to success.
